Our Doctor's Appointment
WE just thought people would like to know about our dr. appt yesterday. Ashlyn is still breeched and we will go in again on Monday for an us to make sure the baby is doing well and is still breeched. If she is still breeched then we'll go over all of the paperwork and my lab work and we'll find out on Monday what time we need to be to the hospital on Tuesday. The doctor thinks that she's around 8 lbs already, so she could be around 8 1/2 lbs by next week. We'll keep everyone updated as we know more.

The Date is Set
Hello family and friends,
We just thought we'd let everyone know that Ashlyn will be arriving on Feb. 3rd, 2009 by c-sec. The only thing that would change that possibly is if obviously I go into labor sooner or my pain continues to get worse.
Our next appointment, the last one before Ashlyn arrives, will be on Tues. Yeah!

A Surprise Baby Shower
Can I just say that I work with some of the most amazing women in the world! They were so sweet and threw me a baby shower today. I was completely surprised, especially with the fact that I hardly ever leave my desk so I don't know how they planned it without my knowledge. I'm also surprised that Josh was able to keep it a secret from me. We had a lot of yummy food and everyone gave me a little piece of advice. I got the following things: baby gowns, onies, sleepers, socks, some outfits for when she is a little older, washcloths, a baby seat cover, blankets, skin products to pamper myself, booties, a cross-stitch for Ashlyn (when I get pics or the cross-stitch back I'll post it on the blog); a bottle and thermometer, some toys, and a few other things. Sorry ladies if I forgot anything ;) you know how spacey I can get being pregnant. Here are a few pics I took of the things I got. Again I will have to post later a picture of the cross-stitch and also the car seat cover, they are both so cute. Everything turned out so well. Again thanks again all of you wonderful ladies, I love you all and it meant a lot to me.

Jan. 16th, Ashlyn's Baby Shower
Well tonight we had Ashlyn's baby shower at my sister's house. Bree you did a great job with it. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
Attendants were my mom, Bree and Jess, Grandma Craner, Aunt Brenda and Ashley, and Aunt Maxine; 2 of my friends were unable to attend along with some of my other sisters. The shower was more of an open house event, so people could come and go as they needed.
We got a lot of fun things. Lots of clothes, books, and other basic necessities( i.e, bottles, diapers, baby, washcloths and skin care products, a baby bather, etc) . I was really grateful for those who could come and support us. I also have some awesome sisters that sent gifts since they were unable to come up.
Mom and Grandma both put their skills to work and made really beautiful gifts. Mom made me Ashlyn's baby blessing dress. I can't believe how perfect it turned out. Grandma Craner also made a beautiful blanket. I know that Ashlyn will always treasure these gifts and keep them forever.
As a group we also tied a baby blanket, ate yummy treats (brownies, rootbeer floats and/or shertbert with 7-up), played a game, and just visited. It was a really nice evening.
Next week I'll have another baby shower with Josh's side of the family. Most of them couldn't come so my sister-in-law is throwing one so that they can make it.
Life is definitely great and changing quickly, but we look forward to all the many new challenges that come with becoming parents.
Again, thanks for everything.

3 Weeks to Go!
Josh and I had our 36 week appt yesterday and found out that our little Ashlyn will be coming a week early. We are so excited and a little nervous. Ashlyn is continuing to grow on schedule but she is breeched and the placenta is too close to her that the doctor's don't feel comfortable trying to turn her; which means we will be doing a scheduled c-sec. At first it seemed a little nerve-racking but now I'm a lot more comfortable knowing that it will be planned. We'll find out at our next appt or the following when they will schedule me.
As for our every day life, it's going great, even though some days it feels hectic. Josh and I are both still working up at the hospital in medical records and Josh has started up the semester again. He seems to really be enjoying his classes. I'm staying busy with work and trying to rack my brain to make sure we have everything for Ashlyn.
Well we are excited for everything that is going on in our lives and the lives of those that we love. We hope you are all doing well. Have a great day!

Holidays gone and past
Hey everyone it was great to see you all at Christmas. We had a lot of fun playing games and just spending time with the family. Now that the Holidays are over it is time to take the next step in our lives, Ashlyn will be born in less than two months and we are so excited. We still have a ton of things to do and get before she is born. Today we are going to go to town and get a couple of the things we still need. School starts this next week, I think it is on the 7th, I am really excited by this time next year we will be on my internship and then only one more semester after that and then we will move to wherever my first job takes us most likely out of Idaho. Well hope everyone has a great new year. Love Jamie and Josh

Bring on the Holidays
WE are so excited for the holiday season, especially Josh since he's only got about 2 more weeks before the semester ends. I just love Christmas time! Drinking hot chocolate (and if Josh is lucky hot cider), the music, being with family and friends, and remembering our Savior's birth.
We can't wait to see all those who are able to come home for Christmas this year. From what I hear it sounds like mom and dad are going to have a full house.
Well I just want to take a minute and share our good news (or what I consider good news I guess)...
Josh is almost done with another semster, I didn't have to use PTO for Thanksgiving (thank goodness cuz I've got to have it for maternity leave), Josh's sister had her baby girl on Friday (9 lbs 20 in. Wholly Cow, that a big baby! :)), we only have a few more days before we get to finally meet little Ellie, and I'm down to 10 weeks left i(that is if everything goes well and if Ashlyn doesn't take after Ellie, lets hope not), and we are all done Christmas shopping this year for everyone.
Well have a great week!

Tis The Season
I just wanted to share our FHE activity with you all. Josh and I made a count down chain for Christmas, a gingerbread house, we read one of the accounts of Jesus's birth, and got out the decorations. Now our tree has been up for a couple of weeks already, so we didn't do it today. We just wanted to share it with you all.

I Can't Believe November is almost GONE!
Is it just me or has this month really flown?Honestly were is all the time going?
Last night we got lucky and got tickets to "Twilight" and we both loved it. I think it followed the book pretty well and look forward to the following movies. On the way home I had to explain a lot of things to Josh and he said he might even read the books. We both recommend this movie.
So I know that most of you know that I don't like to do be in the kitchen unless I'm cleaning it. Josh is the head chef at our home. But be amazed, I was in the kitchen cooking and baking yesterday. Yes, yes I know that you are all shocked! I actuallly made dinner and I was in the mood to bake sugar cookies. Now mind you I'm not a very good froster of cookies but here is a pic of a few of them.
Well after a couple of days of thinking that I needed to update our blog, I'm finally doing it. Josh and I have now made it to the last trimester of this pregnancy, Only 80+ days to go. We had another dr.'s appt on Wed. and I passed my glucose test. Ashlyn is continuing right on schedule and boy is she a mover. I don't think she ever sits still, but it's ok because I love feeling her movements. After my next appointment I will start bi-weekly appointments. As requested by one of my sister-in-laws here is a picture of me now at 28 1/2 weeks. Mind you, I'm not very big but I feel huge!
I didnt' realize Josh was taking the pic or else I would have smiled.
Well Josh is now officially on Thanksgiving break and we decided we didn't want to just stay home the entire time so we've made a trip to Pocatello and IF already. Josh will be doing homework, job searching, and I'm sure Halo and Football this week while I'm at work. We are now going to Thanksgiving dinner at Grandma Rasmussen's house, since mom's sisters are coming from Boise and this is the first time in a long time that, that side of the family has been together with that many people. Other than Thanksgiving plans and work we aren't sure what's going on this week, except that Jessica and Melissa should both have new babies by the end of the week.

Now I did the football and helmet if honor of Josh. He's been playing Football on the Wii.

The Big 22!
Well yesterday was my b-day, thanks for all of you who called and wished me a happy b-day. Josh made me a cake and bought me a dozen roses. They are gorgeous! For my b-day Josh got me one of those kitchen mixers and boy am I grateful for it. It sure does make making things like bread a whole lot easier than when I use to do it by hand. We went and got a movie and pizza and just enjoyed being with each other.
Life is going great for us. Josh only has 3 or 4 weeks left of the semester and is so excited to have the semester come to an end. It will be nice next semester because he will have every Tues. and Thurs. off. Work is going well for me as well.
We are looking forward to the next couple of weeks because we will get to meet 2 new little neices, Thanksgiving will be here, and I'll start my bi-weekly dr. appts.
WE love you all and hope to hear/see you soon. Have a great weekend.

A Time for Thanks
Can you all believe it''s November already? Before we know it Thanksgiving will be here, and we all have so much to be thankful for this year. Josh and I just got back from a quick trip to UT.
Josh finally was able to see and feel Ashlyn move. We were both very excited about that! It's been over 2 months since her first movevement.
We will be spending Thanksgiving dinner this year with Josh's family and then go over to my parents.

All is Well!
Hello everyone,
Well I had another appointment today and everything seems to be right on schedule. We met with Dr. Allred today for the first time and found him to be very pleasant.
Well we've gotten two baby items so far, a playpen/bassinet and a travel system. They are both very neutral colors and themes so that we can use them again later.
Also for good news, for those of you who've heard about my problems with the IRS, it's all cleared up now. A big thanks goes out to Uncle Richard and Brad Reed for helping us deal with the matter.
Well we look forward to the holiday months that are knocking on our doorstep and hope that all is well with you. Have a great week!

And the name will be............
So a lot of people of have been wondering what we are going to name our little girl. As you all know Josh liked Ashley and I liked Paige, so we compromised. Josh did more compromising then me but we went back and forth a lot before deciding. The name we have chosen is Ashlyn Paige Harmon.

It's a.....
Today we went in for our appointment at 2:30. We had our ultrasound first and then met with Dr. Barton. We were able to spend about 20 mins with the ultrasound tech. We found out rather quickly that a little girl is growing inside my growing tummy. WE are so excited! It was so much fun see her features, movements, and hear the heart beat again. She was perfect through most of it. The only time she didn't fully cooperate (sorry if I spelled that wrong) was at the very end. The tech just finished getting in the heart beat (150 per min) and wanted to see if she could get a full on view of the baby's heart so that we could see all 4 chambers. We eventually got it though. They are estimating that she is around 11 oz now and about 8-9 inches long.
Mom gave us her first outfit and all I want to do now is look for baby clothes and go shopping. Mom will also be making the blessing dress and a baby blanket for me. We already have the crib up, which we are borrowing from my sister.
Life is wondeful and we know it will just keep getting better. WE love you all and will keep you updated. Have a great day!

Feeling the Bubbles
Hey everyone,
I just thought you might like to know that I felt the baby kicking today. It was the first real day that I could distinguish the kicking, but it's been going on for a week or so. It happened while Josh and I were in a session at the temple with our ward.
It didn't feel like butterflies for me or something just rolling around. It's more like bubbles or in more lame terms gas bubbles w/o the gas ;) Have a happy day!

Baby name
Hey everbody. We are so excited that in a week we find out if it is a boy or a girl. If it is a boy we have decided that his name will be Kaleb Skip Harmon, if it is a girl we are still thinking on names Jamie likes Paige and I like Ashley so we might name her Ashley Paige Harmon. School is going good and work is also good. Hope everyone is doing well.

Boy or Girl and Names
Hey we are curious to hear what names people like and what they think we will be having. Josh and I are hoping for a boy, but of course we will be thrilled with a boy or girl.
